Vinyl stickers are so much fun and the number of projects you can do with them are pretty much endless. While they may seem intimidating or foreign to your ears, they’re actually pretty easy to use (and very affordable too)! In fact, you can do projects with nothing but vinyl sticker sheets, scissors/cutter and a ruler! Here’s a quick and easy DIY that you can do to decorate your laptops and gadgets!

- waterproof vinyl sticker sheets
- scissors and/or cutter
- ruler
- laptop or any gadget
DIY Vinyl Stickers on Laptop
Step 1: Prepare your materials. Make sure that your scissors and cutter are clean and sharp to get crisp edges. We also recommend a metal ruler to pair with your cutter for extra stability and straight lines.
Step 2: Pick a color palette for your design. Are you into pastels? Brights? Neutrals? Let your imagination flow. There are no rules here.
Step 3: Wipe down and clean your laptop or chosen gadget to get rid of dust, dirt and oils. This will help make the vinyl stick better and last longer.
Step 4: Take your measurements. With your design in mind, use a ruler to measure out the surface where you’d want to place your stickers.
Step 5: Flip your vinyl sticker sheets and use the backside to make your markings for your measurements. In this case, we made 0.5 inch and 1 inch strips. You may also directly draw on the back and then cut them to create various shapes!
Step 6: Peel off your vinyl sticker cutouts from the backing and carefully place them on your laptop.
Step 7: Want to change something? No worries! These waterproof vinyl sticker sheets are pretty durable so you can peel them off and stick them back without any issues. This was how we achieved the “overlapping” parts on our laptop decals.
Step 8: Enjoy! These decals are waterproof and durable so you can sanitize and wipe them down without worry.
