Midnight Snack Dilemma & Some Happy Discoveries

Especially on Friday nights, while everyone is probably partying the hours away, I always end up sleeping super early.  It’s almost always unplanned. I’m just toooo tired & I just find myself reading or scrolling through my Instagram account. Next thing I know, it’s 2 or 3am. I am awake and my tummy is grumbling and I want to grab a midnight snack!

Midnight Snack Dilemma

I’m so hungry I want to run to the ref for anything edible. As much as I want to stay away from the calories, I don’t want to end up with a terrible tummy ache because of my hyperacidity. (Well, honestly, these days, it’s hard to tell whether I’m legitimately hungry, thirsty, or just craving).

See Four Types of Hunger

Then again, I don’t want to sleep without brushing my teeth!  So, I just end up sleeping or drinking water. *Sigh*

What’s your favorite midnight snack by the way?

Meanwhile Section

Woahh..It’s been a while since I’ve added this Meanwhile section to a post 🙂 I just felt I needed to share with you guys all the interesting stuff that I’ve found from all those events plus arts & crafts thingies 🙂 For the weeks now, I didn’t want to be bogged down by all the documentation & photos.  I tried doing that last year and I ended up with lots of backlog, so much stress and guilt.  So, I told myself, as soon as I get to shoot it, I’ll try to get it out there even if it’s just via Twitter or Instagram.

First off, how awesome are these cookies? I’m actually daydreaming about getting to doodle on blank cookies with white edible paint!

This is one of my happy discoveries from the Type Kita Exhibit at the 10a Alabama last March 15: Typography on cookies!Elle Battung paints on her mom’s cookies from PinkTeacupShoppe.com. I should have probably bought more. Actually, I wanted to go back there the next day & wanted to buy cookies for everyone I loved but time didn’t permit us 🙁 Huhuhu. I’m still hoping there would be an occasion when I have enough excuses to buy a bunch of cookies. I checked out their website & they’re also making other interesting colorful dainty & cute edible things that would make you want to throw a party for no reason 🙂 Anyway, this is just one part of the exhibit. Check out the rest of the photos with #TypeKita hashtag & you’ll discover more calligraphers, letterers & typographers! 🙂

I was also able to drop by Manila Fame at the SMX Convention center on the same weekend. Above is a shot of the banig threads. I always thought that our palette as a nation was more on earth tones so I was just happy to see how vibrant all these colors are! Sadly, we’re not really allowed to take photos inside the exhibit area as most of the items are for export but of course, you’ll still see some leaked & official #WeAreFame #ManilaFAME photos tagged on Instagram. My favorites are the Circus Cobonpue section & this shop that sells bone china & ceramics plus another shop that sells weathered nautical home fixtures. Anyway, don’t forget to drop by the next Manila Fame when you get the chance.

I’m such a sucker for pretty places and I’m just so happy that the team that we had a meeting with (which reminds me, I need to hurry up with this blog post as I have deadlines for them) chose Yardstick Coffee as our meeting place. It doesn’t show in my pictures (because I always tend to make everything look crowded) but it’s a spacious, minimalist coffee place. Yardstick Coffee is located along Esteban st. near Rufino Avenue. It’s beside Your Local. You really have to keep your eye out on that weathered metal Y logo. I think I’m more in love with their branding than their coffee 😉

I’ve been seeing this brand Herschel allover the net lately so when I had the chance to drop by their new event thanks to Heima, I was excited! I’m still crushing on that Herschel Backpack with the orange detail. I actually wanted to buy it that night but they said it is not yet available in the market. I just told Ponggo right now that it’ll be my birthday gift for ourselves since our birthdays are just a few days apart. He just also gave me a bad stare. 😀

Anyway, that’s it for now. Tomorrow, I’m excited for Art in the Park which will be from 10am to 10pm. Get yourselves ready for a visual treat! I already have a list of favorite artists in my mind & I can’t wait to share their works with you. If you missed last year’s Art in the Park, click here.

Have a colorful weekend everyone!

XOXO,

Tipsy ❤
