I was recalling how I stopped eating chocolate cake for a week after visiting the cake studio where my wedding cake was being made.  Ponggo’s aunt asked me to sit down & wait as she mixed her ingredients.  Then, she opened a box from the freezer & took out a cube of butter.  By cube, I mean, an 8 x 8 x 8 inch gigantic butter.  After that,  I couldn’t touch any cake or cupcake for a while.  Then, last week, to quench my curiosity, I Googled what’s in a chocolate cake and tried to find out how many calories there are.  Upon finding out, I got shocked.  Then again, that still doesn’t change my love for chocolates–unwavering & eternal. Hahahaha.
At the end of the day, you can make me exercise but you can’t make me give up chocolates! 🙂
P.S. If you’re wondering why this post looks handmade, that’s because most of its elements are. 🙂

Last weekend, I met up with Kat San Juan & Aleyn Comprendio met up at Co/Op Manila.
Honestly, these days, I get paritcularly extra paranoid about eating at quirky restaurants that give more time and attention to their design because most of the time, their food is not as good.  I’m just happy to report that Co/Op Manila has food equally good as its ambiance! 🙂 *Whew!*
Let me give you a tour: Â Â Â
Above: Co/Op Manila has brick walls which reminds me of how much I wanted to have brick walls for our new tiny home!Â
Co/Op Manila is located in San Juan and is very near Wilson. Â It’s not just a dessert place. Â They’re serving pasta, sandwiches & coffee too! Â I had their Truffle Pasta, Iced Tea & Lemonade.
Above:Â They’re also selling some quirky & fun colorful books. Â *Ahhh…Totally right up my alley!*
Above: I’m totally amused with this cake stand bunny and the felt bags. Â I was seriously considering getting this felt bag.
Above: You may say I’m totally biased about this place because they also have art prints of one of my favorite illustrators, Helen Dardik.Â
You can say I’ve found a new workspace & I can’t wait to be back soon!  I also can’t wait to meet up again with Aleyn & Kat.  It’s always refreshing to talk to them–I always get to learn a lot of new things about travel and life in general! 🙂
‘Til my next visit to Co/Op Manila! 🙂
XOXO,
Tipsy

That calorie count! It makes me feel so guilty. Okay maybe just a little but give me that cake and I’ll gobble it up in a flash. Totes not guilty. Haha.
I agree about many food hubs concentrating more on ambiance and interiors. It would be a surefire hit if good food and impeccable design meets! I’ll add Co/Op Manila to my Manila itinerary when I visit. 🙂

I know right! Before, I was so headstrong about visiting pretty place from time to time but now I’m like, “Wait, let me check if the food is as good as the place. I don’t want to be accountable for anyone’s bad day”. Hahaha. The other colorful place that has good food is the Flotsam & Jetsam Hostel in La Union.
I know how you feel about chocolate cakes. It’s my only motivation to exercise! “I’ll satisfy my tummy now & I’ll burn that later!” Hahahahaha.
