Each set has 12 detachable colors. But, if you ask me, there’s so much that you can actually do with this! π To expand your palette, you can actually:
1) Make your colors lighter by adding water…lots of water to produce pastel hues.
2) Create desaturated tones by adding purple OR brown
3) Mix it with the colors beside it.
4) Mix 2-4 colors at a time.
For example, let’s take magenta. By applying the rules above, we get:
1) Magenta + Lots of Water = Rosy Pink (if you really want pink, you can use the white tube).
2) Magenta + Purple / Magenta + Brown
3) Magenta + Light Blue / Magenta + Red Orange / Magenta + Yellow Orange / Magenta + Cobalt Blue

I’m actually pretty happy with this set because this is how I work. I don’t have my own red. I create my red by mixing pink & red orange. π I also love mixing bluegreen and cobalt blue with everything. So all in all, the Faber-Castell Watercolor set is a good starter kit. Yes, as you may have noticed. I’m not such a neat worker. Hehe. π

The Lettering Progress Keeper is a good paper for painting and lettering practice as it is both watercolor & ink friendly. The paper is 200gsm (grams per square meter) and it’s made by Canson which is locally distributed by Ifex Philippines. 
For some of you who have already attended one of my workshops, you have encountered this same type of paper. This was also the paper I used for my Inky Doodles work which is a combo of flat watercolor washes & sumi ink outlines using a dip pen.
Of course, the cover is made by none other than Abbey Sy herself that’s why we’re giving this away! π The Lettering Progress Keeper also has a different texture on each side so you can choose if you’d like to work on a rough or smooth surface.
I was thrilled when I was asked to do a page of 65 stickers for the 1,001 Awesome Stickers book. I saw the first 2 editions of this book and thought, “Wow. How to join? I hope I get to draw for kids someday.” Fast forward to early this year, I was giddy while I was working on my page. Well, okay. I was also pressured to finish my page properly because the artists in they tapped in this book were mostly my idols from Ilustrador ng Kabataan. *#TheStruggleIsReal* Haha.
I was assigned to do landmarks in stamps! So apt that somehow, I always get a travel assignment of sorts. π

Today’s all about neon as we add 4 notebooks from our Oh Brighter Days collaboration and 2 pairs of Havaianas Lakbay Flip Flops designed by Abbey Sy.
One of the things I was grateful for this year was being asked to collaborate with Heima for their Oh Brighter Days collection. As I’ve mentioned before, I was always the type who would attend Heima parties just to witness designs and paintings being launched. I didn’t know that one day, I’d actually be asked to work with them! π

As I’m counting down the days to giving birth and getting busy with last-minute projects and errands, I really miss being able to do abstract art! *You just don’t know how many hours have been devoted to doctor visits and baby stuff shopping & fixing our homes.*
Anyhooz, the furniture collection is still available for viewing at Heima Brixton if you’d like to relive those Oh Brighter Days! You can also get your OhBD notebooks there. The notebook has 100gsm paper and it can withstand watercolor brush strokes. It’s both lined & dotted so you guys can choose if you’d like to use it for your notes or doodles. π
Recently, the Havaianas Filipinas collection was launched. Havaianas tapped three local artists and one of them was Abbey Sy. Her piece is all about traveling and exploring the unkown so I just thought it was apt to have a photo of her pair with her sketch book and sticker. π
I’m a proud owner of this pair and I can’t wait to wear them during my next workout since it will be a long time ’til I go to the beach again and umm…yes…I find it hard to reach the floor so I need to let go of all my pairs of sandals soon. :D

I’m currently torn which one is it I’m supposed to announce first. Β I’m excited about the fact that we will be giving away 5 sets Faber-Castell Pitt Pens! Β These are the sets of the coveted brush pens. Β As much as you can use them for lettering, they’re also ideal for coloring in doodles, brush sketches and of course, coloring books! π
I just got copies of our printed coloring books last night (Yes, we have a coloring book & you can read about it here) and pretty much spent the whole day coloring in these pages with them Pitt pens. Β I must say I do have a bias for using brush pens when coloring in pages like these because just like a watercolor brush, you can choose to use the tiniest point of the pen when working on tight corners. Β Then, you can press it down if you want to be more efficient and cover a bigger area! π
They’re also good for blending and it dries quickly enough that it’s lefty friendly. Β *Oh, the struggles of a lefty. Β You just don’t know how many times I have to go out of the house with ink marks onΒ my forearm.* Β Also, this is the most behaved marker I’ve dealt with so far since the ink doesn’t seep through the other pages as much as the other brands! Β This is such a relief because our coloring book has back-to-back pages. π

I don’t know how to describe the book to you when I know that a lot of you have already stumbled upon this! π Haha. Her book encourages people how to get started with lettering: from the terms to lay-outing, inking with lots of sample works to be inspired by!
So grateful to have been one of the featured artists too! π I’m not 100% a letterer but I really enjoy digitizing my brush lettering work for comics and invite and recently, our coloring book.

Β When I was posting WIP’s of the Around the World with the Googly Gooeys on Instagram, a lot of you have been requesting for my dancing doodles to be included in it. Β So, when I had the opportunity to submit, I chose two Filipino-themed dances namely Singkil & Tinikling.
Staring at these three coloring books makes me laugh. Β It brings me back to a crazy time when I had to work on my coloring sheets, submit these two sheets, submit stuff for the INK exhibit, prepare a presentation for the Color Pop Fair and prepare for a couple of workshops. *OMG, I survived!* Β
These coloring books also have 60 pages of drawingsΒ each & was done by a team of 78 illustrators all in all! *Yasss!* Β They were also published by Take Five, an imprint of Anvil Publishing, Inc. and will be available in National Bookstore branches starting this week! Letters from ABC is a project by Abbey Sy. Β This is a box with 26 designs & 52 postcards. Β You know what feeling when you just love a postcard and you can’t seem to give it away? Yep, that’s why there’s two every design.
The designs are hand-painted and it covers all the letters of the Alphabet hence it’s dubbed as Letters from ABC. π
This is the reason why we’re holding the giveaway. Β While we were finishing our respective projects, we would meet up and work together. Β We dubbed ourselves as officemates because it seemed like it! Β We were chasing deadlines, managing content, thinking about our lay-outs, juggling deadlines and trying to keep each other sane because while we were busy with this, we also had workshops, events and blog posts to keep up with aside from our personal lives!
Anyway, enough of the drama. Β I just want to say, congratulations to zee officemate for coming up with this! Β I’m so happy with the pattern on the box too! What prize would I like to win and why? If given the chance, I would love to receive the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser. My sister had an old Asus laptop which served her well for more than 6 years, so I have been dreaming of owning an Asus device someday. Having witnessed the durability, dependability, and adaptability of the Asus technology, it would be an honor to win one. Why I haven’t been able to buy an Asus device to this day, is because I devote all my meager earnings to support my family. I still own a stone-age like, candy bar phone which is slowly reaching its end of days. I’d love to win the Asus zenfone 2 laser for my mama. She never had the opportunity to use a hand phone so to say as she shares with my dad. This would be the perfect Christmas present for her too!
If given the chance I would like to win the Asus Zenfone 2 laser as I’m leaving for college next year and would love a phone to keep in contact with my family back home.
I wish I’d win the Asus Zenphone 2 Laser so I could give it to my brother! He’s already in highschool and still doesn’t have a phone because my parents think he isn’t ready for one. I’ve seen my brother grow up and believe that he is ready to take on the responsibility of owning his own phone. I study in Manila but my family is in Cebu so I talk to my parents often but rarely to my sibling. I hope winning this phone will allow us to communicate better with each other.

Ang first workshop ko po ay sayo po Ate Tipsy, yung pagdating ko po sa venue super kabado po ako at nahihiya kasi wala po akong kaalam alam sa watercolor. Pero nung nagstart po akong mag-workshop super nag-enjoy po ako. Yung final output pa nga pong ginawa ko noon ay si Darren Espanto, pinadrawing ko lang po kay ate Tippy ako lang po nagkulay. HAHA! Realtalk : I want to have a lot of art supplies for my typography and handlettering hobby. Its my own way of relaxation especially on my stressful degree- engineering. She has been hospitalized just two weeks ago due to hypertension and an infection was found on her lungs. Thanks God that she is all right now and she is presently home medicated. Any prize would be great, but I got my eye on those Faber Castell PITT Artist Pens!! Hand lettering has definitely been a great journey for me since I started just last summer, and I’ve been experimenting with different tools and pens. After joining a workshop with Abbey, I definitely knew that I could pursue lettering and calligraphy as a talent and future work (still a student!). For me, it would either be the Faber-Castell Pitt Pens or the ASUS Zenfone 2. What first caught my attention about the pens was the fact that they was lefty-friendly. Being left-handed, I always had to place an index card under my hand while I drew because my work would smudge if I didn’t. It’s difficult to find materials that lessen the need for this. Also, I’ve always been a sucker for pens and use them as my medium in honing my lettering/calligraphy skills. As for the ASUS Zenfone 2, I want to win it so that I can gift it to my mother, since she works a lot and likes to take pictures to send to my brothers and I when she’s not around. I want to give it to her as a present because I feel like she’s done a lot for me and my siblings, and would like to help her out in my own way, especially when it comes to things she likes.

I’ll be appreciative to be able to receive any of the prizes, just the thought of this post makes heart flatters, that you guys have thought and appreciate us, your fans for this season.
But truth be told .. If I was given the opportunity to choose what I’d like to win:
(1) I’ll probably go for the Havaianas Flip Flops designed by Abbey Sy, I want to have those special edition Flip Flops. The design is superb and A+ and I really love the color and the doodles in it.
(2) Of course the AsusZenphone 2 Laser ~ Who wouldn’t want a new phone for this season? But the sole purpose why I want to have the smartphone is because of its specs. Functional, classy and compact, that’s what I’m looking for in a smartphone.

I would love to win an Asus Zenfone 2 Laser as a Christmas gift for my elder brother. He’s the most understanding among my 4 siblings. Even if at times I become unfair and hard to deal with, he never fails to be the big brother who cares to a fault.
Next option would be the Havaianas. Truth be told, I have never owned this flip-flop before so it would be nice to finally grasp a pair by the end of the year.

Never tried it but it looks like it’s the greatest creation for brush calligraphy, lettering and coloring (full-package!). What I want? Anything would be a blessing, but I think the ones that will help me most would be the Pitt Pens and coloring books or sketch pads. Why I want to win? Pretty simple. I’ve lived in a black and white world most of my life, just paper and spilled ink.
I’m not very artistic. I’m artistically impaired, to be honest, but I want to try and do what others can. I want to make an effort and being half past broke, is going to make it hard to find good materials. My friends are great at art, especially my best friend. She can draw wonderful portraits.
Working with my mental state has been hard and I’ve been finding ways to keep myself okay. I’ve recently thought about adding color to my world where darkness lurks and where lights are dim. I not only want this, I pretty much need it.
It’s hard being the electron surrounding a nucleus. It’s hard being the negative charge. There’s a baby in the house now and I don’t want myself tainting him with depression. He needs a happy environment and if I’m going to be part of that environment, I’m not going to be the sad one.
I’ve been a fan of the both of you (you and Abbey) on instagram for quite a while now, not-so-creepily stalking your accounts on a weekly basis. I would love to win any of these prizes but I’m thrilled about The ABCs of Hand Lettering the most, as well as her sketchpads. I love the Faber-Castell Watercolor Set too. Man, that looks so cool. I’ve always been passionate about the arts and it’s sad to say I didn’t take it up as my own college program because of my parents (and partly, I thought it was good to separate my hobby from being a day job that will wear me out and lose essence of core.) You could say I’m a frustrated artist in that sense. For me, art is my outlet for stress and it’s a medium I use to reconnect with myself, even if most people don’t appreciate it that much. Given the chance, any of these items will be an instrument in my self-development. Haha. I hope you have a safe delivery! I want to win the Asus Zenfone for my husband. He has been using his old phone and would rather spend his cash for the family rather than getting himself a new phone. The Asus Zenfone would be prefect for him and the kids since they love taking selfies and hubby loves to capture candid moments of our 3 beautiful kids. This would be a great Christmas gift for him as I do not have the budget to get him a new phone.

If I could pick one though, I pick the Brush Pen set of Faber-Castell because I plan to win it, not for myself, but for my bestfriend. She is starting calligraphy and lettering as her new hobby and she only has one brush pen so far. How I wish I could afford to buy some for her but brush pens are not really that cheap. So it would really bring her much joy if I could give her brush pen for Christmas <3 (and she actually got her very first brush pen from an ACLE last semester on UP Diliman where she got to meet lots of talented artists like Googly Gooeys and Abbey Sy).
I really really really really hope to win the phone for the main reason that I need one SO BADLY. Just last month, my phone’s power button and charging port gave up and phone technicians have advised that it’s irreplaceable. The way I use my phone now is to charge the battery separately and once fully charged, I turn on my phone using 2 knives (SERIOUSLY). And just a week ago, someone broke into our house and stole my laptop. I honestly don’t have budget to purchase a new phone or a new laptop because I am paying for my sister’s tuition fee so more than just “liking” the phone, I really need it. Thank you huhuhu.

I’m an aspired artist, calligraphist, typographer, and art enthusiast like the both of you. If you’re wondering whom may be, I am @rnzcja on instagram.
First, I would like to win the set of Faber-Castell Pitt pens as it would be essential for me to continue my artworks, I been wanting to buy the Pitt pens ever since byt since I’m still 15 and I have not that much money, I couldn’t afford it. It would also help me improve in the field of arts, calligraphy and typography. Second is the Lettering Progress Keeper Pads because I’d been wanting this for so long because I wanted to see how I’ve been progressing over the years or months or days. Third, I’d also like to win the 1,001 awesome Sticker Books because they are so beautiful, those stickers basically like the artistic representation of what I want in life. Fourth is your amazing colouring book because who wouldn’t enjoy coloring that beauty. Fifth is the Oh Brighter Days! Notebooks because these notebooks are so beautiful, it would be awesome if I had this notebook. Sixth is one of the gorgeous sketch pads made by Abbey Sy because these sketch pads could make me freely create any kind of artwork I desire, it lets me show and express my passion. It would be an honour & it would be so awesome to receive something from you and Abbey Sy. You, Abbey Sy, and some other fellow calligraphist, typographer, and artists from instagram, behance, and other art sharing sites had inspired me to begin Calligraphy, Typography, and drawing & painting as my hobby. I had bought Abbey’s ABC’s of Handlettering book and I have been reading it all over again because it was so amazing and it has given me knowledge about everything I needed to know about these hobbies (Googly Gooey’s Colouring book is my next goal!!!). I know that I may sound a little bit crazy but for 9 months of practising these hobbies, I learned to love it. It was my form of escape from reality, I write, draw, and paint when I feel lonely, happy, or hen I’m in the mood for it (I’m always pumped up to do these). I find happiness in the littlest of things, no matter how small it is, it brings me joy and happiness deep inside my soul. It’s not just a hobby, it’s my passion.
I really really want to win those items so I could improve and pursue my dreams of being as successful like the both of you, I want to be like the 2 of you because you guys are two of my inspirations in life and I look up to you. I’d very much like to win the Zenfone or My Lettering Progress Keeper or the brush pens or the sketch pads. The latter three are indicated above because my sister just started to explore her artsy self and I know that having one of the three will help her in the process of developing her own style. The Zenfone is there just because it’s an awesome phone and not having it as a choice would not give justice to its specs. π But, basically these are the top four choices, any prize would be received gratefully π
