Hello Guys!
Oh my gosh. Time flies when you’re busy feeding and changing diapers! I can’t believe it’s March already! We’re still adjusting to our new life as parents. I would always laugh at the kind of life I had when we didn’t have kids. I felt that I didn’t have enough time then.
Thank you so much for the warm welcome as we resumed our workshops. Last year, I didn’t really have a clue how 2016 will go so I didn’t book any venues until I finally gave birth. 😀
Anyway, so much for my personal life, here are the Watercolor & Lettering Workshops this April:
April 2
Watercolor Doodles Workshop,
Press by Fully Booked in Greenhills
1-5pm
What will I learn from this workshop?
1. Basic Watercolor Washes
2. How To Expand Your Palette
3. Color Mixing Demo / How to Make Your Colors Vibrant
4. Basic Doodling Exercises
5. Guided Project Making
What are the materials included?
12-color Faber-Castell Watercolor Set
4 Faber-Castell Watercolor Brushes
270gsm / 300gsm Watercolor & Doodling Worksheets
1 Pencil
1 Eraser
1 Googly Gooey Tote Bag
1 Googly Gooey Notebook
What if I’m a beginner?
This workshop is meant for beginners: for those who are trying out the medium for the first time and for the ones who want to learn how to doodle.
But, I don’t know how to draw. Should I still join this workshop?
Yep. I believe everyone knows how to draw. It’s just a matter of accepting that that is your own style of drawing. I swear I could write a separate blog post about this (and also some tips on how to put your baby to sleep which I feel I’m an expert in these days…hahaha).
April 3
Multi-Media Brush Lettering
Fully Booked BGC (The Forum)
1-5pm
What will I learn from this workshop?
1. 3 ways of doing lettering with a brush (brush calligraphy, drawing letters & single stroke lettering–like the one in the photo).
2. Get to explore different materials: concentrated watercolor ink, acryl gouache, sumi ink et cetera.
3. Find out how each medium behaves on different types of paper.
In short, it’s a venue for you to try out various media without having to buy them all! 🙂 I’m also all for my workshop participants to be able to discover their personal style & part of that is discovering what medium, paper & lettering method suits you best.
How different is this from the watercolor doodles workshop?
This workshop will not be delving on watercolor washes. This will be a medium-hopping writing class.
What materials will I be bringing home if I join?
4 Faber-Castell Watercolor Brushes
1 Bottle of Ecoline Concentrated Watercolor Ink
1 Mixing Palette
Brush Lettering Worksheets
1 Pencil
1 Eraser
1 Googly Gooey Tote Bag
1 Googly Gooey Notebook
What materials will be shared during the workshop?
Concentrated Watercolor Inks
Acryl Gouache Tubes
Acrylic Tubes
Faber-Castell Pitt Pens
Faber-Castell Connector Pens
Black Writing Ink
If you or your friends would like to join, kindly fill up the form below:
Should you have any other queries, you may send an e-mail to this address: ponggo(at)googlygooeys(dot)com. 🙂 Yep, that’s my e-mail. For those who are wondering why it looks like Ponggo’s l, there was a time when I worked so hard at concealing my identity almost seven years ago. I wanted people to think that it was a guy who was working on the comics. 😀 Now, it’s too late to change everything.
LOL. That’s unsolicited trivia for ya. Also, that’s what happens when you ask me to write a blog post in the wee hours of the morning. *Oh, how I’ve missed blogging, spilling my thoughts on the www and getting to converse with you guys.* 😀
‘Till then!
XOXO,
Mommah Tipsy 😀
