Jean Kelly of Sea Mountain Co shares with us her process on how to make handmade watercolors! 🙂
For a couple of months now, she’s been helping me out with some of my work and she would share with me how she enjoy the process of transforming pigments into useable watercolor half pans! :)
Aside from a watercolorist and an all around generous and humble soul, Jean is also a writer by day so I’m actually wondering what other secret superpower she has. Hihi. 😀
She also handbinds her own watercolor sketchbooks and paints on the spot wherever she travels! Check out @watercolordive on Instagram.
One day, while working on my exhibit piece, she mentioned how she wanted to share her process of making handmade watercolors. I also asked how she got into this thing. She said that it’s an extension of her painting process & it gives her a deeper appreciation of her tools. Sea Mountain Co offers artists products they can bring around as they explore the outdoors! 🙂 Check out our quick process video on our Youtube Channel. Also, if the process intrigues you as much as me, get yourself a set of watercolors on the Sea Mountain Co Instagram page or fill up the order form here. You may also send direct inquiries to seamountainco(at)gmail(dot)com. 🙂
Hope you enjoyed the vid as much as I am personally thrilled to have witnessed the process!
XOXO,
Riley’s Mom 🙂

Ooooh! This looks so cool. It’s like a marriage between art and cooking. LOL. I must be hungry writing this comment. Hehe.
Haha. Oh right.
Good thing Jean didn’t mix brown that day or I would’ve started thinking about chocolates. 🙂 Haha.
