Watercolor Workshop for Kids the Ayala Museum

I can’t believe it’s really happening!  I’ve always wanted to collaborate with Ayala Museum for years now but I always thought it was a remote idea!
Jose Rizal Watercolor

The reason why I have so much respect for Ayala Museum is that despite all the rants I’ve been reading on TV & social media about our country, it is one of the fewer institutions that has respect for our history, heritage & culture. 🙂

Antonio Luna IllustrationI think that’s something we all need: love for our country despite everything that’s happening. :)

I’ve been drawing ballerinas & animals and I thought of exploring a new subject.   I initially wanted to draw Jose Rizal because we had the same birthday but I proceeded to read about the rest of the heroes lives.  I always encourage people to draw from their personal experiences or whatever inspires them and so far, I’m enjoying reading up on heroes lives and how they grew up aside from how they’re being presented in history books.  How much did Marcelo H. del Pilar care about his facial hair?  What was it like to have a car in the 1800’s as Emilio Aguinaldo’s family did?  What did it feel like to travel to Europe before airplanes were invented?  How were the dynamics like in terms of influence way before social media?

Marcelo del Pilar Watercolor DoodlesThere’s just a lot of fascinating details about our heroes’ lives and we will be having 2 sessions for kids 6-12 years old to help them explore new subjects. :)
